kitty the cat came in after bozo.kitty always has one silly expression. i was never particularly fond of cats.i like them but not as much as dogs. she is quite bored cos there is no wild life here on the 7th floor, except on tv.but she manages to do a bit of hunting and makes off with my 5 rupee coins! she is scared of bozo and hardly ever moves from her perch on the bedstead.in fact, she is scared yellow! but bozo is so harmless and oblivious of this silly kitty. nobody notices kitty cos we are a family of dog lovers! but she is quite precious, you know.

new dog on the block

bozo(he has just been christened) because another dog has arrived. he used to be the only one. so a name was not necessary.he never responds anyway! but surely he(i dont even know whether he is M or F, by the way) , i mean bozo, is cuter and bigger. the little dog barks and bozo remains silent. bozo is not of any particular breed but has some pedigree origins. he has fat paws and long ears. the new johnny has aeroplane ears! bozo is my dog. the new addition is suni's. thank god the two dogs dont fight! little chap came in yesterday. so i dont know his name. he looks like a mongrel and very cute. i think he is a puppy. we do not feed these dogs and so they do not mess.

clouds and uppumav

a cloudy day prompted me to make uppumav or "salt mango tree" when it is translated directly from malayalam. the accompanying items vary from people to people. sue had it with tomato sauce, cha had it with air and the author had it with sugar. sugar may sound wierd. but in calicut, that is the accepted accompaniment. it goes well with an omlette too. well, tastes differ........dont they?

eggless cake of aam and mango leather

have heard of so many kinds of cake. like banana cake, apple cake, carrot cake, date cake etc. but never came across a mango cake. once had a cake baked by my dear friend in vrindavan (who even makes mango pizzas!) which had a thin layer of mango on the top like a glazed coat. so i decided to make a real mango cake with mango in its body and soul! used mango pulp and chopped mango leather for effect. well, the cake came out ok but no flavour of mango as such. it could have been any cake with no particular flavour. the aam papad did well and was quite interesting to bite into. so next time i hope to dunk in a lot more of mango pulp and we shall see!

appam, dosa and coffee

was expecting a few comments, queries, something. new to blogging. dunno what to write. apart from tarot, am interested in eating out. for a good south indian veg. fare, sarvanabhavan in cp is excellent. they serve hoppers and string hoppers too.(appam and idiappam) with a good veg korma curry. the dosa is served with 4 accompaniments, resembling an artist's pallette with red, green and white chutneys + sambaar(not samber ,the antelope) . one can pick up interesting southern snakes (snacks are commonly called that) like sev(not apples) and murruku.
today is mommy's day and my girl gave us a treat. what a lovely way to please a foodie- of- a- momma!now am waiting for papa's day for the next treat. papa isnt a foodie:( but has a sweet tooth.i have more of a salty one.....like a pizza tooth, maybe.
